The dial of this Seiko Presage Classic Series watch is inspired by the Japanese art of silk dyeing. Its colour, ‘Sakura Iro,’ is a light pink representing the delicate petals of the cherry blossom – one of Japan’s most beloved natural symbols. The unique beauty of the silk weave is captured through a careful rendering of its texture on the dial, harmoniously paired with delicate colour tones. A series of concentric grooves with varying widths creates a unique radial shimmer that shifts with the light, embodying the Japanese aesthetic of ‘beauty in utility;’ making useful also beautiful.
The curved hands and indices are designed to reflect light in an impressive way, matching the dial’s surface so that the entire dial works as one cohesive canvas.
